America Marches On

American PatriotThe Christian conservative majority of the states of this nation lifted their voices as one in the 2016 election. Voicing in unity opposition to the socialist progress (more like degress. Is that a word?!) put on our republic by President Obama. The Republicans have been given the Presidency and a majority in the House and Senate. The Republican Party has been given the opportunity to get America back on its Constitutional principles. The Republican Party stands on the verge of history in being the first full phase of light coming over the horizon in the new day dawning in America. They have the opportunity to undo the damages done to our nation by leftist, socialist idealism. Including closing of the divide the left widened between races, between police and citizens, between the sexes, between the classes. The Republican Party has been charged with the responsibility of getting this nation back to what makes it great. Free markets. Small government. Low taxes. Liberty! Before cutting taxes the first thing to be dismantled from the Obama era is the socialized insurance that was put on us by the Democrats through a weave of lies masterfully spun with, and with the protection of, their MSM cohorts. But instead, the Republican Party… to the dismay and unbelief of many, put forth the American Health Care Act (AHCA). Why is it so hard for us to believe Republicans have been working on a replacement bill for seven years as House Speaker Ryan has stated? And then… why’s it going to need a couple of versions? It is still unsustainable. It is still not free market driven. It is still socialist! The majority in America united to put the Republicans in power. Why can’t the Republicans act like the conservatives they say they are and unite behind the principles of freedom this nation was established on? Are we placing too much confidence in the Republican Party to break up the elitist ranks by expecting them to be actual patriots?

Check this out. Ya know how most bills proposed by politicians seem to be named the opposite of what they are? "Affordable Care Act." The Affordable Care Act is not affordable and became known as ObamaCare. The American Health Care Act is not American and will no doubt become known as RINOCare. Then RINOCare 2.0. Then 3.0. <insert face palm here>

The only thing lacking is freedomAre the Republicans even conservative anymore? What happened to the Party of Lincoln? The Party of Reagan? Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief and radio talk show host Mark Levin say’s the Republicans have gone “progressive light.” That kind’a stunned me when I heard it. And got me to see I may have been putting too much confidence in the Republican Party to stop the socialist ideals the Democrats keep throwing at us. (This is a danger of a two party system. But then we weren't intended to have parties at all!) It seems too many Republicans just can’t rise up above themselves. As much as I admire “The Great One” for his attention to Constitutional details concerning our nation I couldn’t accept "progressive light." (Since that night Levin has been saying they've gone progressive. I'd like to think he was breaking it to us easy but if you listen to his show you'll know he dudn't pull punches!) When it comes to the United States of America you’re either conservative or you’re not. The Democrats were hard left under Presidents LBJ, Carter and Clinton. Then, far left under President Obama. The Republicans have been gaining more seats in each election at the county, state and federal levels since the 2010 elections. And yet they appear to have been dragged left on the political scale, intimidated by the Democrat’s tactics and MSM’s fake news. They’ve had 8 years to come up with a draft the Party could agree on to repeal the ACA and inject some liberty into the insurance industry. Instead they fight publicly about it and blow a fog across the horizon of this new day dawning. Have they forgotten conservative values?

We Need To Get Back To The Standard Of Conservatism

“What is conservatism? It is a derivative term: it refers to something outside of itself. We cannot conserve the present or the future, and the past being full of contradiction, we cannot conserve it entire. In the past one finds heroism and villainy; justice and injustice, freedom and slavery. Things in the past are like things in the present: they must be judged. Conservative people know this if they have any sense.

Hillsdale College Free Online Courses What then makes them conservative? It is the additional knowledge that things that have had a good reputation for a long time are more trustworthy than new things. This is especially true of original things. The very term principle refers to something that comes first; to change the principle is to change it into something else. Without the principle, the thing is lost.

If American conservatism means anything, then, it means the things found at the beginning of America, when it became a nation. The classics teach us that forming political bonds is natural to people, written in their nature, stemming the divine gift they have of speech and reason. This means in turn that the Declaration of Independence, where the final causes of our nation are stated, and the Constitution of the United States, where the form of government is established, are the original things. These documents were written by people who were friends and who understood the documents to pursue the same ends. Taken together they are the longest surviving things of their kinds, and under their domain our country spread across a continent and became the strongest nation on earth, the bastion of freedom. These documents do not appeal to all conservatives, but I argue that they should, both for their age and for their worthiness.”

If the Republican Party is the party of conservatism then who in thee hell came up with the idea ObamaCare had to be replaced after repealing? Why do the Republicans even want to touch a socialist program?! Don’t they see they’re setting themselves up for failure?! Giving the Democrats material to have history blame the Republicans for a failed attempt to replace the impending disaster known as ObamaCare? So what if it’s better than ObamaCare! You can’t fix socialism with socialism! I listen to a lot of talk radio. Local and national shows. It blows me away so many people (conservatives) call in to talk about how to fix this. But then encourages me to hear many more saying, “There’s no fixing this!” It’s a socialist program. It denies liberty. That’s what we used to have! Where’s the free-market? The AHCA is unsustainable. This, as ObamaCare was, is based on “projections.” What's this? Have our politicians devolved into being psychics now? The Dems sure missed it with the projected enrollments of ObamaCare. And enrollment in that progressive program was mandatory!

The Affordable Care Act Needs To Collapse On Its Own

Obamacare symbol
I’ve been hardset on letting the ACA collapse. It’s the only way for those that don’t really know what this country is about, how strong it really is and how dangerous the attacks we endure of the socialist encroachment (encrustment) on the original intent of the founding that the Democrats keep unleashing on us are. The Democrats own it. Let them have the blame for its failure. With no wiggle room.

And then I heard President Trump talk about it. I was amazed he thought the same as I. That it should be let alone to collapse. But then he added there were too many people dependent on it, that allowing it to collapse would hurt them. I felt reproved when I heard that. It made me think of those that felt they had no choice. It really would suck for them. But whose fault is that?! It really sucked for the folks that had lost the insurance they liked when ObamaCare kicked in. Some died because of it. I’m sure you didn’t hear about that on the MSM. I know the Democrats have already got their victims lined up to protest whatever changes are made to their precious ObamaCare. Hell! Some of them are probably already dead! As registered Democrats! This attempt at experimenting with social engineering on the American people by the Democrats has screwed us. Period.

How Is America Going To Learn If It Doesn’t Take Its Lumps?

Where did we even get the idea we “have” to have insurance? I’ll tell you where it came from. Socialism. Through union negotiations over generations for health insurance as employment “benefits”, we have gotten used to the idea in our time and desire it from companies we work for. Using jealousy to breed selfish desire as a fungus can be bred in a petri dish, the Democrats today have elevated that work related benefit to a civil right in many people’s thinking. And not only that, but that only government can administer this properly. (So that eeeeverybody benefits. Is this based on how well our veterans are taken care of? Like they've been sooo good at that!) For one thing insurance is for catastrophes. And another thing, where is it in the Constitution that you have a right to not have to pay out-of-pocket for doctor visits? That’s how it was when I grew up. Like everything else. Pay as you go. Just like a car repair, or calling a plumber. Or any service! In a free market the best services with the best reputations and the best prices rise to the top in a community. Government involvement is nothing more than a socialist, money making, tax siphoning scam. Health care insurance is not a right any more than auto repairs are. Check your copy of your Constitution! That is NOT American! It is liberal counterfeit compassion is what it is. I haven’t had insurance for 20 years. I had it on my kids while they were minors but I’ve been out-of-pocket since before that. I used to be in the VA but quit going when I saw others needed it much more than I. I have no desire to be more weight on the system. I (and apparently I wasn't alone) refused to submit to the law that I “had” to get insurance by a federal mandate placing hope on the Republican promise to overturn it if they could take the House. And then… the Senate. And then… the Presidency. The GOP offered us RINOs for Presidential candidates against Obama. Eight years later, this is what we have. Witnessing the Republican Party going progressive.

Convention of statesBut take heart. There is a movement currently underway amongst the conservative patriots of this nation that is gaining momentum, even as lines are being drawn. On the left judicial tyranny is being revealed. The 9th Circus Court blocked President Trump’s lawfully issued first Executive Order restricting immigration. Hawaii and Maryland judges have blocked the 2nd watered down version of the first. (These 3 politicized courts affect the whole nation with their judicial overreach.) California is considering becoming a sanctuary state. On the right, Tennessee has filed a first of its kind lawsuit to stop the Obama era overreach of relocating immigrants to Tennessee. Arizona, the other day, became the 6th state to call for a Convention of States. My adopted home state of Tennessee (which is also the land of this author's ancient ancestors) called for it February 2016. The other states to have passed a bill calling for this convention are Georgia, Alaska, North Dakota and Mississippi. Our Constitution dictates 34 states must join in for this to happen. To stand up as states to act over and above Congress. If you don’t know about this movement you need to become informed of this potentially historic event. This call for a convention intends to place Congressional term limits and a balanced budget, among other things, into the Constitution. Perhaps more the way things are going!
